Latest Updates from Our Project:
2021-10-07 WATCH IT PLAYED! North America Fulfillment Begins Soon, Other Zones Ongoing
about 3 years ago
– Fri, Oct 08, 2021 at 11:35:02 PM
TL;DR: Rodney Smith's Watch It Played video is ready! Unexpected delays in EU and Australia/NZ, but they have been overcome. Aus/NZ shipments expected to *finish* next week. UK/EU now expected to begin next week. USA shipping to begin before our next update!
Minor post-oceanic lockdowns and delays have prevented both Shipquest and Armarlo from getting shipments out as planned in the last couple of weeks (Armarlo actually has a large number of backer pledges packed and ready, but the post office has been unable to come pick them up). We're still hearing about a lot of chaos in the industry, but fortunately the impact on this project continues to be manageable.
* A NOTE ABOUT KICKSTARTER MESSAGING * - We discovered a glitch a couple of days ago, where Team Roxley was receiving incoming messages from Kickstarter, but messages we were sending back out were not being exported properly. We are following up with a handful of backers about this by email in the meantime, while Kickstarter technical support investigates the problem. Please use [email protected] instead if you need to contact us (or if you need to use Kickstarter DMs, please include your full name and the email address we can answer you at).
* A REMINDER ABOUT BACKERKIT * - We're still getting questions about this, so please note that BackerKit is NOT digitally connected to your local warehouse / fulfillment partner. All pledges for Radlands should show in BackerKit as fulfilled; that simply means they have been exported to local warehouses, who will send you tracking when we have a more specific timeline.
Local statuses as follows:
Australia / New Zealand:
- Armarlo is essentially finished preparing the first wave of pledges; many have already been sent, but due to COVID lockdowns and bottlenecks, a large number of packages are still waiting to be picked up by the post office. These are expected to be moving forward next week (this week, if we're lucky).
- If your BackerKit reads "fulfilled" but you don'thave a tracking number, there's no need to worry yet, but double check your spam/bulk folders. We're hoping everyone will have these by the end of next week.
China (and other countries served by VFI):
- Delays are continuing at VFI, we have not heard of any major changes to their lockdown situation since the last update. This message is still posted on their public website:
"We are currently under a government mandated quarantine and are unable to continue normal operations. Some of us will still have email access, but please expect delays in responses. Fortunately, we are all healthy and expect to be back to work as soon as possible."
- There are hubshipping dates at vfi.asia/hubs/ for Japan,South Korea, Taiwan, and South Africa. We don't have a way to track these shipments until they arrive at local hubs, but we believe they have left China and are no longer subject to the VFI lockdown.
Europe / UK:
- All pledges for backers served by the UK & EU hubs have been packed and tracking numbers have been generated, but the packages have not yet been physically shipped out yet.
- Both zones are now expected to begin shipping next week, and should take a couple of weeks to finish sending all packages.
USA / Canada:
- There are still reports of shipping bottlenecks portside within the USA. We still do not expect these to cause any significant delays, but short delays did happen in the EU and in Australia, so we are monitoring the situation closely.
- Fulfillment within the USA is still expected to begin before our next update and to continue throughout October. Some backers may need to be fulfilled in early November.
- Backers will be sent a tracking number, as normal, so you will know when your pledge ships.
- Canadian pledgesand tracking numbers are stillexpected to be sent in the first half of November.
As of this update, you can NO LONGER make changes via your original survey link, as BackerKit has been locked down in all zones.
If you have an urgent last minute update to your address, please EMAIL us, INCLUDING the complete new address, at [email protected] and we will follow up for you manually (if you DM us via Kickstarter, please include your full name and email address as well for efficiency).
We're once again overjoyed to have the official how to play video provided by Rodney Smith of Watch It Played! (As Rodney states, he's got the Super Deluxe version here, but the rules explanation will be the same for the Deluxe and retail versions of the game.)
Make sure you catch that sweet box flip at the end of the video!
It is still possible to Preorder Radlands. Orders placed now will be fulfilled in the second wave of fulfillment, after initial backers have all had their pledges shipped.
2021-09-23 - Europe/Australia/NZ Beginning To Ship! Delays For Some Asian Backers
about 3 years ago
– Fri, Sep 24, 2021 at 11:39:52 PM
TL;DR: Fulfillment begins soon in Europe, Australia, NZ. North America still scheduled for early October to early November. VFI has shipped some pledges, but is now under government ordered COVID lockdown - we are awaiting further updates.
We're pleased to be able to report forward movement in all zones, with one unfortunate exception- VFI has had to pause shipping operations due to a government-mandated COVID lockdown, partway through fulfillment. We are awaiting further updates from them.
** A NOTE ABOUT BACKERKIT ** Please note that BackerKit is NOT directly connected to your local warehouse / fulfillment partner, so while all locked down pledges should now show as "Fulfilled" in BackerKit, what that actually means is that we have uploaded these pledges to local warehouses and they will ship as soon as our partners are able to send them.
Local statuses as follows:
Australia / New Zealand:
- Stock has ARRIVED at the Armarlo warehouse, and is being prepared for shipment now!
-All first wave backers are expected to be shippedand sent tracking numbers before the end of September.
China (and other countries served by VFI):
- Stock has arrived at VFI and shipping has begun. We have reports of some backers already receiving tracking numbers in China and Japan.
- VFI has unfortunately had to lock down operations before finishing the first wave. The following message has been posted on their website and sent to publisher partners:
"We are currently under a government mandated quarantine and are unable to continue normal operations. Some of us will still have email access, but please expect delays in responses. Fortunately, we are all healthy and expect to be back to work as soon as possible."
- There are shipping dates at vfi.asia/hubs/ for South Korea, Taiwan, and South Africa, but it should be noted that these dates may still be subject to change as they may have been posted prior to the lockdown taking effect.
Europe / UK:
- Stock has arrived in Shipquest's EU facility, and is scheduled to arrive at the UK facility this week.
- Shipments andtracking numbers from both centres should begin within a few business days, with fulfillment likely continuing into early October.
USA / Canada:
- Two out of three shipments destined for North America are en route. The third should be leaving port this week.
- There are reports of shipping bottlenecks portside within the USA. We do not currently expect these to cause any significant delays, but we are monitoring the situation closely.
- Fulfillmentwithin the USA is still expected to begin in the second week of October, and will continue throughout October. Some backers may need to be fulfilled in early November.
- Backers will be sent a tracking number, as normal, so you will know when your pledge ships.
- Canadian pledgesand tracking numbers are expected to be sent in the first half of November.
As of this update, you can NO LONGER make changes via your original survey link, as BackerKit has been locked down in all zones.

2021-09-09 Asia, EU, Aus/NZ Fulfillment THIS MONTH! North America On The Way
about 3 years ago
– Mon, Sep 13, 2021 at 01:53:11 AM
TL;DR: Foreveryone OUTSIDE of North America, we hope to have every game shipped inthe second half ofTHIS MONTH. For North America... it's complicated (see below), but we expect fulfillment to be throughout October into November.
It's been a crazy month for Team Roxley, but our logistics wizard Adam came through with flying colors, and every game that needed shipping now either has a booking, or is already on the water! Again, we need to disclaim that there is still the possibility of port or customs delays, but barring those, here's what this means for backers in each zone:
Australia / New Zealand:
- Games are expected to arrive mid-month. Backer list has been prepared, and is being sent to Armarlo this week.
-Packages (& tracking numbers)should allbe sent in the final 1-2 weeks of September.
China (and all countries served by VFI):
- Games have already been shipped to VFI, and we have already sent them the backer list!
- It should be noted that VFI has a MASSIVE number of projects under fulfillment, and China is still dealing with the disruptions mentioned in the previous updates. VFI provides public information about hub shipments at vfi.asia/hubs/.
- As of this update, Radlands has not yet been added to that page. Once it is there, that will provide the most reliable and up to date source of information we have about hub shipping dates.
- (Local shipments in China should arrive well before hub shipments, and should be sent with standard tracking numbers when shipped.)
Europe / UK:
- Games are expected to arrive in port within a week, in both fulfillment centres (UK and EU). Backer lists have already been sent to both warehouses and are being organized and prepared.
- Shipments from both centres are expected to begin in 1-2 weeks' time, and to be completed this month.
USA / Canada:
- "It's Complicated" (sigh).
- Adam was able to get some of our required shipping booked very quickly. (It did have to be shipped to the wrong American port, but that's something we can work around.) The remainder has been booked, but is scheduled to leave on two different ships that haven't yet left China (they are currently scheduled to do so just before our next update). This means FunAgain will be receiving some of their stock near the beginning of October, and the rest closer to the end of the month.
- FunAgain is therefore expected to begin shipping pledges in early October, but will be unable to fulfill the entire first wave until closer to Halloween.
- (Backers will of course be sent a tracking number, as normal, so you will know when your pledge ships.)
- These first shipments did not include the retail version of the game, so we are still expecting backers to receive their games before stores do (unless your FLGS is also a backer).
- As expected, Canadian stock will unpatriotically be the last to arrive. Barring further misfortunes, Hubtrotter should be able to send the entire Canadian first wave within the first week of November.
As of this update, you can NO LONGER make changes via your original survey link, as BackerKit has been locked down in all zones.
If you have an urgent last minute update to your address, please EMAIL us with the complete new address at [email protected] and we will follow up for you manually (or if you DM us via Kickstarter, please include your full name and email address as well, for efficiency).
It is still possible to Preorder Radlands. Orders placed now will be fulfilled in the second wave of fulfillment, after initial backers have all had their pledges shipped. (Orders placed within North America may still be able to get into the first wave of shipping, as of this update.)
2021-08-26 - BackerKit Locking Down Tomorrow
over 3 years ago
– Mon, Aug 30, 2021 at 02:55:32 AM
TL;DR: BackerKitlocks down tomorrow. Please message us with any last-minute corrections to your address. Final shipping has not yet been arranged, but we have started securing berths and dates. By our best estimates, we expect most fulfillment to be in mid to late October.
Outlook: Unspecific, But Optimistic
Team Roxley has begun securing shipping spaces and dates.
There's still a lot to follow up on and confirm. We've been in ongoing discussions with our shipping partners all week, and based on those, we're hoping to be able to report success in our next update. Unfortunately, until we have confirmation that those dates are locked down, it's difficult to estimate final fulfillment dates for each region. (Additionally, the games could still be delayed outside of China, as they must still be unloaded in port, pass through local customs, and be transported from there to fulfillment centers).
At this point, our best estimate is that most fulfillment will be in October, with European backers likely getting their games a bit earlier than US backers. We hope to be able to present more specific local timelines during our next update.
With that in mind...
Last Call For Changes!
To allow our fulfillment partners plenty of time to organize and prepare, Team Roxley will be locking down BackerKit tomorrow (Friday, August 27th) to export backer information.
As of this update, you can still make changes via your original survey link.
Once we have locked BackerKit down (or if you don't have your original survey link), you will need to message us with any last-minute changes. To minimize response time, please include your full name, email address, and the complete details of your requested change (for example: new shipping address) in the body of the email.
Some FAQs
Q: I'm in China - my games don't have to travel by boat. When will they arrive?
A: To eliminate delays and reduce potential shipping complications, Roxley will not be arbitrarily "holding" any fulfillment zones to wait for other ones. Fulfillment in China is handled by VFI. We do not yet have a confirmed shipping date for VFI (we hope to have this by the next update), but because they don't need to go by boat, we expect Chinese backers to be the first ones to receive their games. (Hub shipments from VFI, for countries including Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, & South Africa will be consolidated and shipped to local hubs within 1 month of VFI receiving stock, after which local hubs will separate and fulfill backer pledges.)
Q: What about the retail versions of the game? Am I going to see this at my FLGS before my copy arrives?
A: While retail distribution isn't handled directly by Roxley, it is our policy to not authorize the retail release of any of our Kickstarter games in a zone that fulfillment has not yet been completed in.
Q: Are Canadian pledges going to be shipped at the same time as the US?
A: As Canadians, we know it's terribly stereotypical to apologize... but it's what we have to do. Under current conditions, it's just not practical to separate Canadian and US shipping, so ours will begin 1-2 weeks after American fulfillment does. The good news: Canadian fulfillment is going to be handled by Hubtrotter, who managed to ship the entire first wave of Steampunk Rally Fusion Kickstarter pledges within only 48 hours of receiving them at the warehouse, so we expect the delay to be minimal.
Some LFAQs (Less Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: Can we help Roxley out with the additional shipping costs?
A: Aaron Belmer, you just became our favourite backer. Can you send us a selfie to hang in the Roxley office...?
OKTRA (OK, The Real Answer): We genuinely appreciate this, as it's not always easy to make ends meet in this business, and the last two years have been a rollercoaster! Fortunately, we are soldiering on.
That said... if there's a brand-new small publisher or indie creator that you love, there is a realistic chance that they might be struggling with manufacturing, shipping, and/or fulfillment right now, and in real danger because of it. You might consider checking out a game they do have in stock, leaving a positive comment on their current campaign or social media channel, and/or giving them a good rating on that one game of theirs that you really do love. (We hear some publishers like that kind of thing.)
Q. Can we get a better look at those black water discs?
2021-08-12 - Arranging Initial Shipping
– Fri, Aug 13, 2021 at 03:57:48 AM
TL;DR: Radlands is complete! Due to bottlenecks in the shipping industry, there is the possibility of a delay in fulfillment. Weare working on contingency plans to mitigate this, shouldthey be required, and will continue to update you regularly.
The Current Freight Situation
As some of you may have already heard, many of our fellow publishers in the industry are reporting delays in fulfillment, as well as a massive spike in the price of shipping containers from China. Several factors have contributed to this, beginning with industry fallout from the blockage of the Suez Canal and ongoing local COVID and economic disruptions, but more recently because of Typhoon In-Fa, which brought record amounts of rain to China and caused flooding, evacuations, damage and death as far as Singapore and Japan.
What's The Good News?
The games are complete, and were not affected by the typhoon.
While there is a realistic possibility of a delay, one has not yet actually been confirmed. Containers are still shipping out of China and the industry is working steadily to clear the bottleneck. The expected cost to ship Radlands is currently higher than was budgeted for, but not so high that we want to ask backers to help bear the burden.
To address the situation proactively, Team Roxley has been meeting frequently with our friends and peers within the industry to share information, discuss alternatives, and explore contingency plans. Some of these have already been ruled out as impractical (such as using air freight, or shipping games by rail through Russia), but some do have potential to help (such as consolidating shipping with other publishers). We're looking into every option to be certain, and as usual, we'll be back in two weeks to keep you posted with the latest news.
